It was a perfect shoot: natural lighting you can only dream of, a stunning location, and a couple who relaxed into the shoot after only few minutes.
So cutting a long story short - My wife lived in America for a few years and made friends with a family, who all moved back to England around the same time. They always kept in touch and thanks to social media, Harriet's mum Jan started to follow my work through family photos etc. Then when I started my business, I was always getting kind remarks from Jan. Shortly after Harriet got engaged, (as in just hours after) Jan sent me a message;
"Harriet just got engaged and I'm booking you in for my daughter's wedding!!!" - and thankfully I was available on the date AND Harriet and Ben agreed!
So after nearly bumping into Harriet and Ben in Venice after they were engaged (they left the day I arrived - so close) we first met back in May 2016 at Shustoke Farm Barns which was to be their wedding venue. After looking around and talking through their wedding plans we then had a sit down to go through wedding photography in more detail.
Their wedding will be taking place later this year (watch this space) but they also booked an engagement shoot which took place in Sutton Park, Birmingham. I thought this would be a fantastic example of a couple who like many others, feel unsure about having their photos taken. After just a few shots, with some tips on how to relax and be themselves, we ended up with plenty of fantastic photos - 181 to be exact! The weather conditions were perfect for an autumnal shoot as you can see in the photos. Harriet and Ben now don't have to worry about photography nerves on the day - just the getting married bit!!
Let me know what you think of the photos and if you're interested in booking a shoot please get in touch!
