Thanks to a recommendation and a cold autumnal consultation, Leighann and Dave found the photographer to capture one of their most cherished days – me :)
I met these two lovebirds nearly a year before their big day, so we had a lot to talk about. I aim to get as much knowledge about a couple’s wedding plans as I can as it gives so much insight into their personalities and the style of wedding they’re planning. I’ve seen and worked at many weddings now and find couples get a lot out of their consultation as we cover so many aspects – it can open up more possibilities for their wedding plans.
I always start with the taster shoot (which is at no charge at all) as it is usually the part couples are worried about. Having a camera pointed at you can be very unnerving, it’s hard to explain that there is really nothing to worry about! Every couple I’ve done this with have said how much easier it was than they thought and how relaxed they felt by the end of their shoot. It’s also a fab way to get to know each other in a short amount of time. After being in the cold for over 20 mins we headed to the pub, found the comfy sofas and ordered some hot drinks to warm up. Here are a few photos from their taster shoot;
Leighann and Dave wanted to get married fairly local to Coventry originally, but they then stumbled across a fantastic venue in the Shropshire hills called Walcot Hall. Originally someone’s house, it’s now a very successful wedding venue and also a place to stay for a short break – offering a variety of options from an old chapel, to the back of a vintage fire engine! Honestly, check it out! My wife and I are contemplating staying over on our anniversary but haven’t decided on which accommodation yet…
Both the bridal party and groomsmen got ready at Walcot. The girls were in one of the large bedrooms in the main building and the boys were in the old Chapel…up a steep hill…it certainly felt very steep with all my camera gear first thing in the morning!
It was a beautiful warm August day and their dream to get married outside came true. Leighann and Dave’s wedding was just perfect. All the little details that everyone worked so hard on were spot on and their guests were on top form throughout the day and it carried on through the evening. I always say I aim to stay until the dance floor is emptying, but the dance floor was still bouncing as the band was packing up not long before midnight – what a great group of friends and family!
The staff at Walcot were really friendly and did a fantastic job. They have a wedding fair on the 14th April 2019 which I have been invited to after I posted these lovely pictures. I’m so excited because I truly love this unique venue! So if you (like Leighann and Dave) are thinking about staying local to the Midlands but are tempted by this superb venue, come and have a look. You won’t be disappointed!!
Leighann and Dave’s wedding was the sort of day where you leave buzzing and with a massive grin. Every time I go through their photos an echo of that feeling just bubbles back!
